A catch-all feature that is enabled for a particular mailbox will permit you to receive emails that are sent to addresses that do not really exist. Otherwise stated, if you disable an email address and someone still sends an email message to it, or to any mistyped address under the very same domain name, you’ll receive the message in the catch-all mailbox. Using this functionality implies that you won’t miss an email for any reason whatsoever, which could be vital if you are running some business, for example. Since you may start receiving unsolicited emails, you can combine the catch-all functionality with email filters so as to receive only legitimate messages in your inbox. Only one mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be enabled for a catch-all mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting
Creating a catch-all e-mailbox will be really easy in case you have a Linux shared package with us. You can enable this option through our powerful, albeit user-friendly Email Manager tool, which is an essential part of the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, via which you’ll manage your hosting account. You’ll find all the email addresses that you’ve created displayed alphabetically and to the right of each one there will be a tiny "Catch-all" icon, which will quickly show you if a specific mailbox gets all the messages pertaining to a certain domain or not. With one click on the icon you can activate or deactivate this feature at any time. In case there is activated email forwarding or in case a different mailbox has already been set up as a catch-all one for a given domain, you’ll get a notification from our system. The latter will not disable/replace anything automatically and without your approval.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting
A catch-all email address can be created with a couple of clicks of the mouse if you’ve got a Linux semi-dedicated hosting package with us. The hosting account will be managed via our in-house created Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you will be able to create email addresses using any domain name registered there. To activate the catch-all option for a mailbox, you will need to click the button with the same name, which will be on the right-hand side of each mailbox. Disabling this option can be done in the exact same manner and will not require more than a click either. If the catch-all option has already been activated for a given domain name, you will receive a warning alert. The same goes if the mailbox that you wish to be a catch-all one has email forwarding activated, as our system will never edit or deactivate any feature automatically.
